SEALASKA HERITAGE INSTITUTE PRESENTS THE 2017 WOOSH KINAADEIYI SUMMER SHOWCASE SATURDAY, JUNE 24th AT ROCKWELL BALLROOM
Think music. Think concert. Think performance. Think poetry. On June 24th from 7-9 P.M., five Juneau poets with live music accompaniment will take the stage at Rockwell Ballroom for Woosh Kinaadeiyí’s annual Summer Showcase. The five poets-Erika Bergren, Austin Naawéiyaa Tagaban, Cate Ross, Lily Hope, and Christy NaMee Eriksen- were selected to showcase poetry as a performance art. The event will feature local musician Jacob Pickard who has crafted unique music scores for each poet’s performance.
This is the fourth year for Woosh Kinaadeiyí’s Summer Showcase, an annual fundraiser for the organization. This year, the Summer Showcase will be presented by the Sealaska Heritage Institute.
Businesses and individuals have the opportunity to support the organization’s work in the community through sponsorships or purchasing tickets to attend the event.
