Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that the Downtown Juneau Business Association operates on the traditional lands of the Tlingit people, specifically the Aak’w Kwáan, Taku Kwáan, and Huna Tlingit. We recognize and honor the enduring presence, stewardship, and deep connection of the Tlingit people to this land. We pay our respects to the Tlingit elders, both past and present, who have cared for this land for generations and continue to contribute to its rich cultural heritage. We acknowledge the Tlingit people’s ongoing contributions to the community, their knowledge, and their role as the original caretakers of this place. As we work and gather in this vibrant downtown area, we commit ourselves to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment that acknowledges and values the diverse indigenous cultures and histories of this region. 

May we all continue to cherish and protect this land, its resources, and the cultural legacy it holds. Gunalchéesh (Thank you) for the opportunity to acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land.
